What is MicroPress, Inc.?

MicroPress, Inc. is a custom publishing company serving the needs of authors of all descriptions and ambitions. We are organized to accommodate the specific production needs of each author needs, with specialized equipment that allows us to on demand. We can print as few as one copy or as many as 1,000+. With a staff that includes writers, editors, and illustrators/other graphic professionals, we are able to offer as many, or as few, support services as the author chooses.

We are committed to tailoring the author's publishing experience to his unique circumstances and expectations - to make the author the customer, once and for all.

Liz Finds A Forever Home

The author brought story about her pet visiting golden retriever to us as a rough outline with no artwork. We paired the author with a talented illustrator who was able to create the detailed and inviting illustrations that would attract young children to her story. With the author, to do the children's book as a 8”x 8” book to fit easily in a child hands while allowing for the illustrations and text to live at a large size.

"Carol’s Story”

A senior at Saint Leonard, a senior center in Centerville, Ohio, wanted to compile an autobiography. Our mission was to compile a book, putting together her words and pictures into a 6” X 9” book. We also used one of her watercolor illustrations as the book cover. This book was distributed to her family, and not sold to the public.

This project was brought to us by a student, who wanted to compile a manuscript of her written materials that wonders around in a dream like fantasy. She wanted to have it in a book form. We had to put the words together and develop a cover image. Only 10 copies of this book were produced.

The Healthy Diabetic

This author came to us with her cookbook. The book as fully complete, designed by an outside designer. Using the pdf docments, we were able to print and bind her book on demand to fit the quantity needed by the author at any particular time.

Courage Across the Country

The author came to us with his written story and pictures wanting a custom designed book and e-book. We first worked with the author to create the 6" x 9" book, which included full-color photography of his journey across the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail. Following the printed book, we worked with the author to created an e-book, which includes pictures and fit-to-page design that would work on Amazon Kindle.

My Memories of WWII

The author told his story about being on a battleship in the Mediterranean to one of our Living Magazines editors. She loved his story and decided to compile his story with pictures and memorabilia into a book that he could share with his family. She brought the book to us for printing. The book was not sold on the open market, however a second print was made and in the end had over 50 copies made.

When Grandpa Was A Boy

The author’s daughter brought this book project to us. He had just passed away, but had already completed his life story about growing up in Newport, KY along the Ohio River. Our mission was to put pictures and text together into a 6” X 9” book that was created right before Christmas in 2009. When the daughter came to pick up the books for the family, some tears were shed.

Written with love and tears

This project came to us from one of our Living Magazines editors, who had worked with the author’s wife from Maine. This project entailed compiling a number of letters written by her now deceased husband, who was stationed as a doctor in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. His widow wanted to compile these letters to share with her family because of the unusual situation of their love and marriage.
